“alterations” is one of the most vulnerable songs i’ve ever written. it’s about what happens when the way you see yourself becomes so distorted that you start believing changing your body will finally make you worthy. i wanted to capture the exhausting cycle of comparison, perfectionism, and chasing an impossible standard. the feeling that no matter how much you change, it never feels like enough.

while the lyrics come from a deeply personal place, i wrote “alterations” for anyone who’s ever looked in the mirror and felt like they weren’t enough. i hope it starts conversations about body image, self-worth, and learning to see ourselves through kinder eyes instead of impossible expectations.
